“Heart of DOPING” or “DOPING Now (Redux)”

“I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like… victory. ”

Col. Kilgore Apocalypse Now.

I couldn’t think of a more appropriate quote to accompany the news that an international arrest warrant has been issued for Floyd Landis. Landis won the 2006 Tour de France, but was stripped of the title after testing positive for synthetic testosterone, which constitutes doping. Doping is cheating. It is lying. It is despicable, reprehensible, and unforgivable.

The arrest warrant is for Landis’ suspected hacking into an anti-doping laboratory computer, which is another level of despicable altogether.

Landis’ tainted victory of the 2006 Tour de France has burned like napalm through the cycling community, and sports venues around the world. The rotten stench of it burns the pure joy out of competition.

Thanks for coming out, Floyd.
